On January 14, 2025, Saraswati College of Engineering, Kharghar, held a seminar for engineering students covering the SolidWorks Course. The seminar acquainted students with SolidWorks, one of the leading 3D CAD software programs used for mechanical design, product development, and engineering simulation. Students learned how the SolidWorks Course prepares them with applicable experience used in the workplace for engineering projects.
At the seminar, the different elements of the course were discussed, particularly 3D modeling, assembly design, simulation, and drawing. The two speakers described the benefits of the SolidWorks experience and how learning SolidWorks deepens student learning about more complex engineering concepts, while developing engineering problem solving skills that are highly sought after in industry.
The seminar also highlighted the opportunities available after completing the SolidWorks Course, such as a CAD Designer, a Mechanical Engineer, a Product Designer, a Simulation Specialist, and a Design Engineer. They were also informed that a certificate in the SolidWorks Course would increase their credibility as professionals, to be employed or get internship placement from the leading engineering and manufacturing companies.
The advantage of this seminar is the interactive format that allowed students to ask their questions and gain a deep insight into practical applications. Furthermore, exposing them to the ideas of the competitive advantage of using this program strengthened students desire to run the SolidWorks Course and draw preliminary career development plan.
