Conducted a Industrial Visit of Govt Industrial Training Institute (Wagle) Students at MIT
Autocad is a non-parametric software that is extensively used in the mechanical, civil & electrical industries to create standard 2D drawings and 3D models that are accepted globally. In a recent industrial visit of AutoCAD Mechanical conducted by MIT at Thane for Gov Industrial Training Institute, students were given a brief understanding of the software. Students were given a brief introduction about how AutoCAD can be used in the mechanical field. Different file formats used in the software were discussed. Students were also shown how the templates could be assigned. After a detailed explanation about AutoCAD, the difference between 2D Workspace, 3D Workspace & Isometric were covered. Students were explained about the importance of setting up Units before starting any project on the software.Geometrical tools like Line, Circle, Polyline, Rectangle etc. were demonstrated including modify tools like Array, Mirror and Offset.
The importance of Layers and how to use them in a project to make the model readable was reiterated during the seminar. Different types of Blocks and its usage was described using examples. Students were made to visualize Isometric models too.
Moving on to 3D modeling, Principal views and its use was discussed. Extrusion, Subtract and Union commands were also demonstrated using examples. Later, few existing models were used to apply material. Finally, the seminar ended with the discussion on Layouts and then the stage was open to any questions from the students.
